This article will review three Charles town wv restaurants, namely the Dish, the Turf Rib Room, and the Mediterranean Cafe. While this bustling USA city in West Virginia offers a wide variety of dining options that serve local and international fare, as well as organic cuisine, these three are firm favorites with visitors and locals.
The Dish is on West Washington Street, just a couple of blocks from the Jefferson County Courthouse. The restaurant focuses on genuine American cuisine made with fresh ingredients supplied by local farmers. In true American style, steaks are a specialty, with the fillet and the hanger worth a special mention.
Patrons are offered a choice of two side dishes - grilled corn or broccoli rabe. They can also choose one of three sauces, namely whiskey and mustard; onion, sage, parmesan and butter; or horseradish and mushroom. The Turf Rib Room is also well known for its breakfasts which are served on the weekends, and during lunch or dinner. If you are planning dinner on a Saturday or Sunday, it's essential to book. At the weekends, the restaurant offers patrons the use of a free shuttle service to the casino and hotels.
The third of the Charles town wv restaurants reviewed in this article is the Mediterranean Cafe. This is also on Washington Street at the corner of North George Street, adjacent to the courthouse. Although its name suggests it specializes in Mediterranean fare, the menu is far more extensive. There is also a choice of international dishes from Italy, Greece, Lebanon, Persia, and Spain. Two house specialties are the Italian Chicken Piccata and the Greek Gyros.
